IF ANY MAN SIN…   Leave a comment

Today’s topic is what can the Christian do if he or she commits SIN?

When we are born again and saved from the penalty of sin, it is just that. We live for the Lord Jesus, We try to be Godly Christians who adhere to Gods command to be holy, but we have a daily battle with the flesh. Sometimes we win, but sometimes the flesh does. However there is not an excuse for our sin, but we have a exit for our sins.

‎1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.

Imagine if that was the entire verse? Notice it says we are Gods little Children though. Children are mischievous and rebellious at times. Just like our own children when we command them to not stay out late, yet they try to sneak in after hours, We as Christians try to sneak sin into our lives which God does not delight in, but being God He knew we would have moments of weakness just as Moses and David of old as well as even some of the apostles like PETER.

Here is the rest of that verse.

And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

IF doesn’t mean that some may not sin. It means WHEN  we sin because there is no sinless perfection. The good news is that Jesus is our council for our defense. Jesus aids us in our case. Sin is the prosecuting attorney who wants to nail us our entire life, but Jesus simply has to bring the record of our confession before the Judge (GOD) and we are cleared. because Jesus did not commit sin and He kept all the law, we have a perfect savior who imputed his RIGHTEOUSNESS to us with His BLOOD.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to CLEANSE us from all unrighteousness.

Here we go again with the word if. Christians love God and will in time confess their deeds because we are given a new heart and conscience when we are born again. We might be like the PRODIGAL SON who leaves his Father, but we always return.

When we come to agreement with God that we have SINNED instead of trying to hide it and confess it to Him through Jesus as being our defense attorney so to speak, GOD will be just in discharging the penalty of the sins in the name of JESUS.

God will declare us purified from that sin. We are renewed on a daily basis by God. We are purified internally by the renewing of our soul. True rebirth or being born again will cause a complete change for the better from within our SOULS. We are bathed with the HOLY GHOST which sealed us unto the DAY OF REDEMPTION.
